The FabLab in Amsterdam and the FabLab in Utrecht participate in the course How to make (almost) anything at the MIT FabLab of the Centre for Bits & Atoms in Boston by using video conferencing techniques and sharing the ‘glocal’ FabLab open source hardware platform. Other participating international labs are located in Iceland, Barcelona and Norway.
FabLab at Holland Innovation
As woendag 10 october staat Stichting FabLab.nl op uitnodiging van de provincie Utrecht op Holland Innovation. U kunt ons vinden op het paviljoen van Utrecht. We zullen aanwezig zijn met de Epilog Lasercutter en zullen onsite mogelijkheid bieden bezoekers zelf te laten ervaren hoe leuk het is iets zelf te maken met deze coole machine. Verder zullen wij de FabatHome opensource 3D printer tentoonstellen. In Utrecht opent binnenkort een heus FabLab. De kwartiermakers Wouter Pijzel van de NOVU, Henk Croon (HU -Cube), Bas Allart (TFI), Nicole Bakker (HKU), Rolf Bossert (Syntens) en Dirk van Vreeswijk (Stichting FabLab.nl) zijn sinds April 2007 hiervoor hard aan het werk nadat de Provincie Utrecht 200.000 eur reserveerde voor het Utrechtse FabLab initiatief. Wij zien u graag op Holland Innovation om aan te haken bij het begin van de Digitale Fabricage Revolutie.
